Commit to Giving Down Time

In our day-to-day life, sometimes it’s hard to factor in some time for yourself. Having down time is important and is usually the first thing that gets overlooked when schedules become hectic. By setting aside time for yourself, you are able to refocus and relax, which will allow you to be more productive when you are on the go. You’re allowed to be selfish when it comes to your well being and your sanity. Make an extra effort to set aside time for yourself.

Plant a tree! Make a day out of it, invite friends and family. Planting is an act of putting down roots and contributing to the future. Actively work to save the environment and watch for years as the tree grows. Planting a tree helps filter pollution from the air, prevents soil loss, helps recycle water, provides homes for animals and provides an interesting, soothing environment for children.

Practice feeling beautiful. When you catch yourself looking good, take a minute and hold it. Stay in that place for a moment - feel it, and hold it. We often will reinforce to ourselves when we don’t think we look so good and rarely reinforce when we do. FEEL it, and hold it. Maybe add a little verbal spice - say to yourself: “I look gorgeous!” So savour those moments, and you will have more of them.
