When was the last time you learned a brand new skill or read an instruction based book? This week, find three new things to learn that are outside of your regular routine. If you are athletic, perhaps try a skateboard lesson from your son, or learn calligraphy from your grandfather, get a water colour lesson from your artist neighbour or borrow a foreign language tape series from the library. Have fun and make it a habit to learn new things on a regular basis.

Around the house
If you are planning on renovating with new flooring for your home, consider the many new eco-friendly options. Flooring made from bamboo or natural linoleum can be good choices.  Natural linoleum is made from sustainable ingredients such as linseed oil, cork flour, rosin and jute. The harvesting and replanting process of bamboo has little to no effect on the environment.  Other eco friendly flooring options include trendy floor designs made from recycled leather, or from recycled glass floors. You can also find flooring in different colours made from recycled tires and other rubber materials.

Tip #77
How we feel about ourselves and our own beauty will very likely be passed down to our children, especially with moms and girls. Be wary of any negative things you may say about yourself in passing or in the mirror.
When she hears remarks about how YOU look or how YOU feel about your body these ideas will often be immersed into HER self esteem. Part of how she learns to like or dislike herself is through what she observes from you. So remember to share good things that you love about yourself in front of your child and keep personal criticisms to a minimum.
