Consider Recycling Your Bras for a Good Cause

We all have a black hole in our bedroom known as the bra drawer. This drawer tends to have bras that we wear each week as well as some that haven't seen the light of day in many a year. Come on, admit it!

Eventually, most of us do a bit of spring cleaning and toss out those unused bras. This is true even though they might be in good shape. Once the throw it in the garbage process starts, we can get a bit carried away! Well, this is one occasion when you need to stop and think about a different way to get rid of those bras.

A new movement amongst women is to recycle their bras for a good cause. Times are tough. We all know it. If you are lucky enough to not be feeling it directly, I'll bet you have friends who are definitely not enjoying themselves. Every day seems to bring bad news and people are on edge. One recent poll found that fully 75 percent of people are worried about losing their job. Think about that for a minute. Look around you at the store and imagine three out every four people being unemployed. Now that is scary. We have to watch out for each other these days.

The bra recycling movement is pretty much what it sounds like. Women are going through their drawers and donating bras that they don't wear so that women in need will not have to go without.  Which bras will work for this process? Well, ask yourself what you would want to wear? Most of us want a bra in decent shape that is clean. This is exactly what the donation centers as for. The bra doesn't have to be new, just in decent shape and clean. How hard is that? Not very!

You can drop off or send bras into local groups offering bra recycling programs. Finding them is simple. Just do a search for the name of your community followed by "bra donation" on any major search engine and you should see a list of the groups in your area.

With times being tough, every little bit of assistance can make a difference in a person's life. Donating your unused bras might seem a small thing, but it could be a big thing to a woman who has lost her job...her home...everything. It certainly beats throwing it out in the trash.
